Search Process

A Complete Search Plan For Each Assignment

By definition, "retained executive search consulting" as practiced by Crescent Strategic Resources is a specialized form of senior-level management consulting conducted through an exclusive engagement. Its purpose is to assist executives of a client organization in defining executive positions, identifying well-qualified and motivated candidates, and selecting those best suited through comprehensive, quality assured search processes. 

The professional services provided by Crescent Strategic Resources will include a national or international search for the most qualified candidates in accordance with specifications and/or selection criteria agreed upon prior to commencing the search. 

Opening An  Assignment.  

We create a full set of working papers including position specification, interview forms and checklists, interview summaries, position announcements and/or ads, standard candidate presentations, recruitment collateral appropriate to level of position, expense summaries, and search project plan.

Position Specification Development.  

We work with the hiring executive and members of search committee to discuss the position in detail. Information about the scope of the position, its duties and responsibilities, desired professional experience of candidate, special training or educational requirements are discussed in detail. A position specification is written and verified for accuracy before prospective candidate identification and research begins.

Candidate Name Identification and Research.  

Based on the specification a potential candidate list is prepared. We add candidate names whose backgrounds fit the position. Backgrounds are screened against the position specification.

Screening Interviews. 

We approach and qualify candidates identified in an extensive “Discovery Interview” in which the candidate’s experience is discussed in detail. A determination will be made if face-to-face interviews are appropriate.

Candidate Presentations and Candidate Selection. 

The candidate background details are prepared for presentation to the client’s hiring team. We introduce the final candidates to you and other members of management and participate to any degree you desire in any in-depth discussions

Interview Logistics.  

We make arrangements for the interview including scheduling, travel arrangements, alternative interview venue selection. We gather feedback from candidates about their impressions of the interview meetings.

Reference Checks.  

At an appropriate time, we conduct in depth reference checks on the candidate selected. A detailed reference report will be submitted in writing to client.

Offer Preparation.  

During the discovery interview phase, We will have gathered details about the candidate’s compensation package, future salary expectations, and frequently documents such as employment contracts, non compete agreements, and/or non disclosure agreements which are extremely valuable in assisting the client in developing a mutually acceptable offer. We are available to assist the client in marketing the offer in person if appropriate.

Final Negotiations.   

During final negotiations with the selected candidate, we provide counsel and assistance on the offer of employment including matters of compensation, relocation, and the termination of candidate’s current position and other related issues. We will communicate the successful completion of the search to sources, candidates and references and follow up with you and the new executive to assist in the transition and to ensure the most positive long-term relationship possible
